Understanding How Your Symptoms May Be Connected
Why Neurology-Focused?
At Anew Chiropractic, we use neurology principles within chiropractic care to better understand how your visual system, vestibular system, proprioceptive system, spine, and movement patterns may relate to what you are experiencing, this approach is also known as Functional Neurology.
These systems help your brain understand where your body is in space. When one or more systems are not responding as expected, some people may experience symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo-like sensations, motion sensitivity, lightheadedness, headaches, migraine-related concerns, visual discomfort, balance changes, neck pain, or coordination difficulties.
A neurology assessment and care approach can include evaluating areas such as movement, balance, eye movements, posture, coordination, reflexes, and sensory responses. Our assessments are non-invasive and are used to help guide individualized care recommendations, referral, or co-management when appropriate.
How Neurology Works With Chiropractic Care
We assess eye movements, balance, posture, coordination, movement control, spinal function, and other neurological or musculoskeletal findings.
1
Recommendations may include chiropractic care, neurology-informed exercises, balance or movement-based activities, sensory input, home recommendations, or referral.
2
We monitor changes using clinical observations and objective findings when appropriate, then adjust recommendations based on your response to care.
3
Neurology principles can help guide chiropractic care by looking at how the nervous system, balance system, visual system, proprioceptive system, spine, and movement patterns may be working together.
Symptoms and Concerns We Commonly Assess
Concussion-related symptoms
Headaches and migraine-related concerns
Lightheadedness or autonomic-related symptoms
Balance and coordination concerns
Care recommendations vary for each patient. A neurology-informed chiropractic care is not a replacement for emergency care, medical diagnosis, or specialist management when those are needed.
