Frequently Asked Questions
About Anew Clinic
-
Anew Clinic provides chiropractic care with a functional neurology-informed approach. This means we assess how your nervous system, balance, vision, posture, movement, and musculoskeletal function may relate to what you are experiencing. Rather than focusing only on where symptoms are felt, we look at how different systems may be working together. Care recommendations are individualized and based on your history, assessment findings, goals, and whether our approach is appropriate for your situation.
-
Functional neurology is an assessment and care approach that looks at how the brain and nervous system may be functioning. This can include evaluating eye movements, balance, coordination, posture, reflexes, movement control, and sensory responses.
At Anew Clinic, functional neurology principles are used within chiropractic care to help guide individualized recommendations. Depending on your findings, care may include eye movement exercises, balance training, sensory-based activities, movement retraining, and chiropractic care when appropriate. -
No. While many patients come to us with concerns such as dizziness, vertigo-like symptoms, concussion-related symptoms, headaches, migraine-related concerns, balance issues, visual instability, or autonomic-related symptoms, we also assess common musculoskeletal concerns such as neck pain and back pain. Our approach considers both musculoskeletal and nervous system-related findings when developing care recommendations.
-
Care at Anew Clinic is tailored to each patient’s history, assessment findings, comfort level, and clinical needs. Before beginning care, we complete an assessment, explain relevant findings, discuss recommended options, and review potential risks, benefits, and alternatives. Informed consent is part of the care process, and referral or co-management may be recommended when appropriate.
Symptoms and Concerns We Assess
-
Yes. We assess potential vestibular, visual, musculoskeletal, and nervous system-related findings that may be associated with dizziness or vertigo-like symptoms. Based on your history and assessment findings, we may recommend individualized care, home exercises, co-management, or referral when appropriate.
-
We assess patients experiencing concussion-related symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, visual discomfort, balance changes, neck pain, motion sensitivity, or difficulty tolerating activity. Our approach focuses on identifying relevant functional findings and discussing appropriate next steps. This may include chiropractic care, functional neurology-informed exercises, co-management, or referral when additional medical evaluation is needed.
-
Yes. We assess factors that may be associated with headaches or migraine-related concerns, including neck function, posture, muscle tension, visual strain, vestibular findings, movement patterns, and nervous system-related responses. Care recommendations are individualized and depend on your assessment findings and whether chiropractic care is appropriate for your case.
-
We do not treat medical emergencies or conditions requiring immediate hospital-based care. If you are experiencing sudden or severe symptoms such as loss of consciousness, sudden weakness, facial drooping, slurred speech, chest pain, severe sudden headache, new confusion, or other urgent concerns, call 911 or seek emergency medical attention immediately. If your concern falls outside our scope of practice, we will recommend referral to an appropriate healthcare provider.
-
Yes, we may assess and provide care for children when chiropractic care is appropriate. Care is adapted to the child’s age, comfort level, health history, and clinical needs. If you have specific concerns about your child, we can discuss if an appointment at Anew Clinic may be appropriate or whether another provider should be consulted first.
Appointments & What To Expect
-
During your Case Review Consultation, we will discuss your current symptoms, relevant health history, previous testing or care when applicable, and your goals. The purpose of the consultation is to help determine if an in-person assessment may be appropriate and to outline possible next steps. This may include booking an assessment, preparing records for review, considering co-management, or seeking referral when needed. The Case Review Consultation is not a replacement for a full examination or medical diagnosis.
-
Your first visit includes a detailed review of your symptoms, health history, and goals, followed by a physical, neurological, vestibular, visual, and movement-based assessment when clinically indicated. The assessment may include looking at movement patterns, balance, eye movements, posture, spinal mechanics, coordination, and other relevant findings. At the end of the appointment, your chiropractor will review the findings with you and discuss appropriate care recommendations, referral options, or next steps.
-
Appointment length depends on the type of visit and the assessment or care being provided.
Case Review Consultation: approximately 30 minutes
Initial Intake Appointment: approximately 75 minutes
Additional neurological, vestibular, or functional testing may require additional time if clinically indicated.
Intensive care scheduling varies depending on the patient’s assessment findings, goals, and recommended care plan.
Follow-up appointments vary depending on the type of care being provided and will be discussed with you in advance.
-
The number of sessions varies based on your symptoms, history, assessment findings, goals, and response to care. Some patients may require only a small number of visits, while others may be recommended a longer care plan. After your initial assessment, your chiropractor will explain the findings and discuss recommendations so you can make an informed decision about care.
-
No referral is required to book an appointment at Anew Clinic. You can schedule directly with us. If you plan to submit claims through extended health benefits, we recommend confirming with your insurance provider whether a referral is required for reimbursement.
Insurance & Payments
-
We do not currently direct bill insurance providers. We provide detailed receipts that patients can submit to their extended health benefit plan for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by provider and plan, so we recommend checking with your insurance company directly.
-
Chiropractic services are commonly included in many extended health benefit plans, but coverage depends on your individual insurance policy, annual limits, provider requirements, and plan details. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your specific coverage.
-
Anew Clinic may offer financing options through Medicard by iFinance for eligible patients. Approval, payment terms, interest rates, and financing conditions are determined directly by Medicard. Financing is optional, and patients are encouraged to review all terms carefully before applying. A detailed fee breakdown will be reviewed with you before beginning any recommended care.
